LEARN to SHINE Spring Programs at Longo’s Leaside (the Loft)
Sunday April 14 & Sunday May 5 1:00 – 3:30PM
Sunday April 14 – Rock What You’ve Got!
Empowerment workshop for girls ages 7-11
1:00 – 3:30PM
$45+HST (all materials and nut-free snack included)
Drawing upon inspiration from the book “Rock What Ya Got” by Samantha Berger, we’ll be taking the girls on a journey of uncovering who they are and what makes them BeYOUtiful inside and out. Through artistic expression, meaningful conversation, interactive games, and so much more, we’ll spend the afternoon going deep into the qualities that make each of us SHINE! Girls will leave feeling empowered about who they are, what they love about themselves, what makes them one-of-a-kind, and how they can continue to respect and appreciate themselves more deeply – every single day. *This workshop will involve a hands-on, super creative, slightly messy art project, so dress appropriately.

Sunday May 5 – Cultivating Confidence
Empowerment workshop for girls ages 7-11
1:00 – 3:30PM
$45+HST (all materials and nut-free snack included)
Spring means new growth and new beginnings. It’s a perfect time to step into your power, feel your best, and radiate awesomeness. We’ll work with the girls to really understand what it means to be confident–and what confidence looks like in every day life. We’ll emphasize the importance of kindness (to ourselves and others) & the power of self-compassion. We’ll also talk about the power of our voices to stand up for others, for ourselves, and for positive change. This program will include an art project, meaningful conversation, and interactive games, among other things.

Single classes are $45 +HST each. Sign up for both classes and pay $80 +HST.

LEARN to SHINE 10 Week Winter Empowerment Series – SOLD OUT
10 Week Winter Empowerment Series for girls ages 8-14 – January – March 2019
The focus of this series will be on guiding girls through tools and strategies they can use to navigate the social dynamics of the schoolyard and beyond — while learning to embrace, and LOVE, their own awesomeness!! Here’s a glimpse into some of the themes we’ll be focusing on:
- Who am I and what makes me AWESOME?
- Facing the ‘mean girl’ inside ourselves
- Self-love, self-confidence, and the true meaning of BFF
- Cliques, clubs, and the queen bee – navigating schoolyard dynamics
- Under pressure: the social pressures we’re dealing with online and off
Each week, the girls will participate in a 30 minute yoga class taught by Christina Bothwell of MODALIFE (which will incorporate the theme of the week) followed by a 1.5 hour Born to Shine session, with Natalie and Hailey, that will include mindfulness, movement, creative expression, and open discussion in a safe and loving environment.
